AI+ Guidance & Career Counsellors

Guide, Match and Coach Smarter with AI

Sharper matches. Fairer options. Guidance that stays yours.

You research the labour market, draft the CV feedback, and prep the mock-interview questions — and the algorithmic "career match" a student already saw online has half-shaped the conversation before you sit down. AI+ Guidance & Career Counsellors gives you the COMPASS Protocol for auditing bias in AI career-matching and protecting client confidentiality and impartiality, the PATH Framework for AI across the full guidance cycle, and 15 prompt templates for the research and drafting that eats your caseload. Built by an AI engineering firm for counsellors whose real work is the conversation, not the paperwork around it.

Who this is for

A guidance or career counsellor working in one of four settings: a school or college careers adviser (often also holding a teaching or pastoral role), a university careers service adviser or consultant, a further-education or apprenticeship progression adviser, or an independent/private career coach or counsellor. Typically holds a careers guidance qualification (e.g. a Level 6/7 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development in the UK, a Master's in Counselling with a career-development specialism in the US, or an equivalent professional credential) and may be registered with a professional body (Career Development Institute in the UK, National Career Development Association in the US, or a national equivalent). Spends the working week in one-to-one guidance conversations, group careers sessions, labour-market research, CV and application review, mock interviews, and progression-pathway planning — for cohorts that range from 14-year-olds choosing subject options to mid-career adults considering a change. Distinct from an educational psychologist (T2-164): the guidance counsellor's core professional act is helping a person explore, decide, and pursue a direction — not conducting a statutory cognitive or learning-needs assessment. Distinct from a school subject teacher (T2-11): the guidance counsellor's remit is the student's future pathway, not curriculum delivery.

Also for:Careers hub coordinators and managers overseeing a team of advisers; apprenticeship and progression coordinators in colleges; outplacement and career-transition coaches working with redundant or transitioning employees; volunteer and part-time careers advisers in community and third-sector settings.

You’ll be able to
  • Apply the COMPASS Protocol to protect client confidentiality, audit AI career-matching tools for demographic bias, and preserve the impartiality of guidance before any AI interaction
  • Use the PATH Framework to integrate AI across the full guidance casework cycle — from client profiling through labour-market research, option-testing, and action-planning
  • Use AI to support career exploration conversations, CV and application coaching, interview preparation, and progression planning while keeping every substantive judgement and recommendation the counsellor's own
  • Evaluate AI-generated career-matching or pathway-recommendation outputs for bias, staleness, and overreach before sharing them with a client
  • Build and execute a 30-day AI adoption plan calibrated to their setting — school, college, university, or independent practice
