The State of Applied AI.

Which jobs is AI actually reshaping, and what does each one now need to learn? This is a map of the 166 professions and 96 transferable skills the AI+ Library covers across 18 sectors — drawn from the world’s most complete Applied AI curriculum. Titles in the library

Most “state of AI” reports measure the technology. This one measures the work. Every profession below reached the point where AI changed the day-to-day enough to need its own playbook — a dedicated title written by AI engineers and verified by practitioners in that field. Read together, the list is a picture of where applied AI has actually landed in the working world, and where it is still arriving.

The sectors are ranked by how much of the professional landscape the library now has to cover to serve them. Each links to its own section, with the specific roles and skills involved.

Professions are Tier 2 titles (one per role); skills are Tier 3 titles (transferable across roles). A sector’s rank reflects the breadth of professional work AI has reshaped there, measured by the number of distinct playbooks the field now requires.

Beyond the profession- and skill-specific titles, the library carries 29 cross-cutting titles — foundations (17), special (8), industry overview (4)— that establish the AI literacy, strategy and reference material every profession draws on.

No two professions are the same, but every AI+ title is built on the same durable frameworks — the part that survives every model release. High-stakes fields also get a profession-specific safety protocol that extends GUARD (CHART for nursing, DOSE for radiography, MINDS for mental health, and more).

Methodology

What this measures, and what it does not.

The figures are drawn from the AI+ Library catalogue as of 29 July 2026. A profession or skill appears here once it has been judged materially reshaped by AI — enough to warrant a dedicated, practitioner- verified title. The count for each sector is the number of such titles, split into professions (Tier 2, one per role) and transferable skills (Tier 3).

This is a measure of curriculum coverage, a proxy for where professionals have sought structured AI guidance. It is not a survey of adoption rates or spending, and it does not claim a ranking of AI’s economic impact. Non-English editions are excluded to avoid double-counting translations. The numbers update automatically each time the catalogue is rebuilt.
